Conflict Transformation

Conflict doesn’t have to be the end of the story.

When co-founders or colleagues need to heal unhealthy friction and broken trust, communicate more productively with each other and collaborate more effectively, a Conflict Transformation may be in order.

Mythos Leadership’s Founder Amy Logan has conducted dozens of Conflict Transformations with clients that have succeeded in resolving conflict while skillfully managing emotional reactions, creating alignment, cultivating stronger relationships of trust and collaboration, and helping the parties determine whether they can stay together or not.

The Process

Amy’s proprietary process facilitates a no-drama discussion of sensitive issues and an exchange of feedback, and the creation of collaborative agreements with accountability.

Each party learns new, effective lifelong relationship skills through this process:

  • An introduction call between Amy and each party separately, to surface their issues and goals and orient them to her process.

  • Several hours of individualized training by Amy with each party on her tools and process and message-crafting in preparation for the conflict resolution discussion.

  • Amy facilitates a formal discussion where each party has the opportunity to air their issues and requests in a planned, constructive way to the other. A collaborative agreement is co-created.

  • Amy provides a process for the parties to maintain their agreements with each other.

  • Follow-up sessions with Amy ensure long-term maintenance.

“I had the opportunity to work with Amy one-on-one and to bring her in to mediate founder conflict…

Amy was instrumental in helping me, as a co-founder and manager, gain insight into strengthening my communication skills and approaching conflict more productively. I found myself better equipped to take on challenging conversations with empathy and make difficult decisions. Most importantly, I was held accountable for developing more effective habits that I was able to bring back to my team.

The strategies I learned from working with Amy have transformed how my team gives feedback to one another and we're a much stronger team because of it.”

Case Study

A Tale of Two Co-Founders

“Resolving the unhealthy co-founder relationship was huge! I strongly believe it saved the company.

Amy supported me to develop the skill of having challenging conversations in a constructive way and emboldened me.

I’ve even used these skills to have difficult yet tactful conversations with investors.”
